Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data DinnerPartner collects, why, and what control you have. If anything is unclear, email us at dinnerpartnerservice@gmail.com.

Who we are

DinnerPartner is a dinner-pairing service available on Telegram and WhatsApp. We pair singles for in-person dinner dates.

What we collect

When you start the bot:

  • On Telegram — your Telegram handle and numeric ID (Telegram automatically shares these with any bot you message)
  • On WhatsApp — your phone number (this is your WhatsApp account ID) and your WhatsApp profile name (WhatsApp shares these with any business you message)

When you complete onboarding:

  • Profile photos you upload
  • Demographic information you provide (gender, age range, language)
  • One restaurant you would like to dine at
  • An optional short bio

When you use the service:

  • Messages and commands you send through the bot to coordinate matches and dinners
  • Match history and outcomes (planned, confirmed, no-show)

On our landing page (this website):

  • Standard analytics via Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel — page views, clicks, device type, language, IP-derived country
  • We do not collect form inputs from the landing page (there are none)

We do not collect:

  • Your real name or postal address
  • Your phone number if you reach us on Telegram (Telegram does not share it with bots by default) — note that on WhatsApp your phone number is inherently your account ID, so we necessarily receive it, as described above
  • Any payment information — the service is free at this stage

How we use it

  • Matching — your photos, restaurant preferences, and demographic info are used to suggest one partner at a time
  • Service operation — your messages are used to coordinate dinners between you and your match
  • Safety — match history is used to detect spam, fake profiles, and harmful behaviour
  • Analytics — aggregated landing-page data helps us improve the page and our advertising
  • Communication — only inside the Telegram or WhatsApp bot. We do not send marketing emails

Who we share it with

  • Your matched partner — sees your photos, your restaurant choice, and the messages you send through the bot
  • Telegram and Meta (WhatsApp) — as the underlying messaging platforms, each inherently sees the bot traffic on its own network
  • Hosting providers — Railway (database) and Vercel (landing page) for infrastructure
  • Analytics — Google (GA4) and Meta (Pixel) for landing-page traffic only; never your bot data
  • Law enforcement — if compelled by valid United States legal process

We do not sell your data. We do not share bot data with advertisers.

How long we keep it

  • Active accounts — for as long as you use the bot
  • Inactive accounts (no activity for 12 months) — we delete photos and bio, retain anonymised match history for product analytics
  • Deleted accounts — within 30 days of your deletion request, personal data is removed; backups roll off within 90 days

Your rights

  • Access — email us to receive a copy of your data
  • Delete — email dinnerpartnerservice@gmail.com
  • Correction — edit any field in your profile by re-running onboarding inside the bot

Cookies and tracking

The landing page uses Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel for analytics. The Telegram and WhatsApp bots have no cookies. You can opt out of tracking by using a browser with tracking protection (Brave, Safari with ITP, or any privacy extension such as uBlock Origin).

Age

You must be 18 or older to use DinnerPartner. We immediately delete any account we discover to be under 18.

Where your data lives

Our database is hosted on Railway (United States). Our landing page is hosted on Vercel (US/EU edge). Telegram and WhatsApp message routing happens on Telegram's and Meta's global infrastructure respectively.

Changes to this policy

We will post material changes here and notify active users in the bot. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
